On the 23rd and 24thJanuary the European funded PeCATHS project consortium held is kick off meeting at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón de la Plana, in Spain. The project is developed through a multidisciplinary scientific consortium in chemistry, physics, engineering and photochemistry, led by the Institute of Advanced Materials of the Universitat Jaume I (INAM-UJI). The project kick-off meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners in a collaborative session that marked the official launch of the research initiative. The meeting began with welcome remarks from the Project Coordinator, who outlined the overall vision and objectives of the research endeavor. Each partner organization then introduced their teams, highlighting the specific expertise they brought to the consortium. This introduction phase helped establish personal connections across organizational boundaries and created a foundation for future collaboration.

After presentations work package leaders talked about their duties, tasks and outlined a detailed timeline with key milestones, deliverables, and critical dependencies between different research activities. Particular attention was paid to the first six months of activities, establishing clear short-term priorities for each team. At times during the meeting participants engaged in focused discussions about methodological approaches, data sharing protocols, and potential research challenges. The technical experts gathered to form groups around specific technical aspects of the project, with spontaneous breakout discussions helping to resolve initial questions about research scope and approach.
The administrative coordinator team reviewed financial management procedures, reporting requirements, and compliance protocols to ensure all partners understood their operational responsibilities. The communication manager introduced the tools and platforms that would support internal collaboration, along with the planned external dissemination activities to maximize research impact.
We also have the presence of the Project Officer connected remotely that established some practices and gave some recommendations.
The meeting concluded with an action-planning session where specific tasks were assigned to team members with clear deadlines for the project’s initial phase. A shared enthusiasm was evident as participants expressed their commitment to the research goals and appreciation for the diverse expertise assembled within the consortium.

After the two day meeting PeCATHS members are now looking forward to meet again and share the results of the research carried out in the different partners’ institutions.
